Editorial Independence and Conflicts of Interest
At Archives of Educational and Behavioral Sciences (AEBS), editorial independence and transparency are core values that shape every stage of our publishing process. Editorial decisions are made exclusively on the basis of scholarly merit, with no influence from financial, institutional, or political interests.
Editorial Independence
The editorial team of AEBS operates with full independence from its publisher, the BADE Institute, as well as from any external stakeholders. Editorial choices regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection of manuscripts are guided by the academic quality, originality, relevance, and ethical soundness of the work.
-
The publisher does not intervene in editorial decisions.
-
Editors, editorial staff, and reviewers are protected from undue influence that may compromise objectivity.
-
Considerations related to advertising, sponsorship, or funding have no bearing on editorial outcomes.
The Editor-in-Chief holds full authority over the journal’s editorial content and the scheduling of its publication.
Conflicts of Interest
All parties involved in the editorial process—authors, editors, and reviewers—are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could affect the impartiality of their work.
For Authors
-
Authors must provide a clear statement of any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could be perceived as influencing their research.
-
Examples include (but are not limited to): research funding, consultancies, employment, honoraria, intellectual property rights, or advisory roles.
-
If no conflicts exist, the manuscript must include the following statement:
“The authors declare no conflicts of interest.”
For Editors and Reviewers
-
Editors and reviewers must recuse themselves from handling submissions where conflicts of interest exist, such as close personal or professional relationships with the authors, direct competition, or financial ties to the research.
-
All declared conflicts are reviewed and addressed in accordance with COPE guidelines to maintain fairness and integrity in editorial practices.
